„He’ll be remembered by the collective will of countless ladies who stood up and said sufficient. We refuse to let this predator rewrite his legacy of abuse.“

The team also comprises actresses Rosanna Arquette and Jessica Barth, and Weinstein’s frail assistant Rowena Chiu.

The BBC has requested Weinstein’s representatives for a commentary.

Last week Weinstein reached a tentative $25m (£19m) settlement with dozens of ladies who possess accused him of sexual misconduct, lawyers said.

He faces a separate criminal trial next month on rape and sexual assault payments, which he also denies.
