Universal Photos said Tuesday that this will launch the social satire “The Hunt,” a film it canceled within the wake of criticism about its premise of “elites” searching people for sport in purple states.
A trailer announcing the film’s March 13 launch date affords the “elites” searching fashioned people as a conspiracy idea. Superstar Hilary Swank says at one point that “it wasn’t proper” amid pictures of shootings, explosions and different violence.
The trailer contains the line, “Potentially the most talked about film of the 365 days is one no one’s viewed yet.”
In August, Universal Photos canceled a September launch for “The Hunt” after criticism, alongside side from President Donald Trump. The president, with out mentioning the film by name, said it became intended “to infuriate and set aside off chaos.”
The cancellation got here after the studio had already paused the advert advertising and marketing campaign for the R-rated film within the wake of mass shootings in Texas, Ohio and California.
